Hope Lives Here:
Rescue. Redemption. Recovery.
Welcome to The Rolla House — a mission-driven space where compassion, purpose, and transformation meet. We're building more than a home. We're creating a sanctuary for healing, through sober living, community outreach, and cat fostering — one heart, one room, and one story at a time.
Meet the Founders
James Havel Jr.
A retired U.S. Army Sergeant First Class, James brings over 13 years of leadership experience in high-tempo, mission-critical environments. He culminated his service in a strategic staff role within the Protection Cell at the 1st Infantry Division Headquarters, where he specialized in planning, compliance audits, and operational oversight. Now studying at Missouri University of Science and Technology, James is beginning his next chapter as an entrepreneur, consultant, and freelance project manager. Backed by a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and deep expertise in process improvement, he is committed to building systems that empower recovery, purpose, and sustainable change. Inspired by his brother Jonah’s work with the Hayes House recovery project in Texas, James founded The Rolla House to create a space where transformation is not just possible—but expected.
Angela “Nikki” Havel
Known to friends and family as “Nikki,” Angela is the warm and visionary force behind The Rolla House’s hospitality. With a rich background in caregiving, interior design, and community outreach, she weaves creativity, compassion, and faith into every space she helps shape—transforming houses into true homes filled with purpose and care. Years before The Rolla House began, Nikki and her family traveled to Guatemala on a mission trip with their church, an experience that deeply reflected her heart for service and played a meaningful role in James’s love and admiration for her.
